Passport Requirements
To apply for a UK ETA, you must have a valid biometric passport with the necessary security features, such as an embedded microchip. Only citizens from eligible countries with this type of passport can apply, making the process faster and easier for short-term stays.
Trip Planning and Application Process
It is recommended to apply for your UK ETA before booking flights or accommodation. Once approved, the ETA is valid for 2 years and allows multiple entries, as long as your passport and personal information remain unchanged.
Approval is usually quick — in most cases, it is granted within 72 hours of submitting your application.
